After dropping his EP Post Nostalgia Trauma last year, which featured singles such as ‘Wanna Go’, which we previously covered, J.O.Y is back with a brand-new single. ‘Blue Marine’ was produced by So Flawless and is a track which suits J.O.Y’s voice perfectly, as it allows his softness and high notes to be exposed clearly as the artist speaks about how a love interest is essentially ruining his life. Moreover, within this track, the subtle use of autotune helps to create a sound which is reminiscent of The Weeknd’s early work, and will standout to listeners. This R&B artist has clearly been working hard in the studio as this single comes quickly after his EP landed in early December, which is good news for J.O.Y as this consistency is going to help him move from strength to strength.
